August 13th 2008 - Louisa Wall - Young, Lesbian and Politician
We are really pleased to host a special night with Louisa Wall. She is known as the newest Labour, Maori, Lesbian MP. Louisa has been in parliament for a relatively short time and is conscious of the election ahead. She is going to speak about her time in Parliament and will give us an insight into that fascinating world of politics.
September 10th 2008 - Annual General Meeting
Put this date in your calendar and be sure to be there to hear about the great progress we have made over the past year, and some of our plans for the future.
Also featuring this evening will be Cynthia Bourne. Cynthia has been active leader in the Auckland Gay Swim Team. She has the Medals to prove it. Cynthia plans to show us some video footage and a powerpoint presentation that will play during the drinks and networking time. Cynthia will also be looking out for new people to join the swim team and will be available to talk to those who interested in training with the swim team.
October 8th 2008 - Lets Talk Party Politics
It is election year and so we intend to hold a panel discussion with MPs who are either Lesbian or who have a track record of promoting issues that Lesbians will benefit from. Watch out for more details about this event. It is sure to be an alba meeting that you won't want to miss.
November 12th - Time for a cup of Tea and Lie down
We figure it is starting to get frantic and that it is time to start planning your summer reading. Carol for The Women's Bookshop is going to give us her picks for the summer.
December 2008 - Party Time

No event is held in January, enjoy your holidays and we'll see you in February.
